My introduction!
Hello! I'm Lexie, the club's secretary. Dang, after reading Edward's amazing introduction, I don't know if I can compeate! (I had no idea he was such an amazing writer!!)
Hmm, I suppose a little about myself is in order. I'm a junior, I'm 16, and my favorite color is yellow. I've been more intensly interested in Wicca for, jeez, two years now I think.
** The following is a rant and it's not very nice... but I thought it was funny. Just thought I'd add a disclaimer. You probably want to skip this paragraph and read it at the end.**
I was raised a Mormon and most of my family is Mormon, but about 8th grade I started disbanding myself from the Mormon church. I had never really felt belief in the Mormon religion and the idea of God and the creation of our beautiful Mother Earth anyway, so getting out of it felt right to me. And well, Wicca feels like the right path for me too. Those Mormon crazies still plague me from time to time...They don't take quitters very well. Apparently leaving their church is an invitation for them to stalk you and come to your house bareing gifts of homemade baked goods in a lame attempt to get you to come to church. (Like a guilt trip I guess? "Here's some rice crispie treats! We really miss you! <3<3") Or maybe they'll show up at your door step and read you passages from the bible at your door step--mostly because you wont let them in the house. So, I have a lot of pent up anger, but I'm not saying Mormonism is bad or anything, because like us, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and religions because we live in fricken America and it's allowed. But, if they try to bring me "into the light," one more time, I've got a nice rant in my head that's sure to scare them away for at least a few months.
**End rant.**
My interest sparked in 7th grade when I met a girl who claimed to be Wiccan (I say claimed because she most likely wasn't by the vibes I was getting off of her and the fact that she lied about EVERYTHING...) and when I asked what it was, she told me. Later, my interest sparked further by--let me add embarassnly-- watching the movie The Craft. For those of you who haven't ever watched it, I totally reccomend it! It's a great movie.
Anyway, Freshman year, my best friend and I decided to go into Third Eye on Forth ave. Third Eye is this awesome little Wiccan shop filled with awesome little trinkets, books, crystals, candals and just about anything you may need. At the time I had a job, and so Third Eye is where I bought my very first (And to this day, only) Wicca spell book. Since I don't ever have any money to buy the supplys I need, I haven't gotten a chance to try anything in the book yet. There are some really awesome spells and charms in there though, so I'll bring it to one of our meetings and see if we'd like to try some stuff out. Maybe we can learn how to make candle gardens together or something. =)
So, anyway, Better wrap this up. I'll add more when I feel like it, but for now I'm all typed out. Thanks for reading and I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Re: My introduction!
Welcome to the board! I hope this place becomes a safe haven and a great learning experience. And thank you for the compliment, lovely.
I do hope your old Mormon friends leave you alone--it is bothersome when they come knocking at the door proselytizing.
Merry meet and bright blessings!
